Italy Plans – Trevi Day 9

Trevi, another hill town in Umbria, is about 12 miles north of Spoleto. The majority of the town sits on the hill and only the center of town is flat.  It was a fortified town with two walls encasing it’s concentric streets that resemble a shell.

In Trevi we will be learning about olive oil and wine. Two precious liquids. :)

Trevi’s olive oil is said to be the best in Italy. We are visiting a traditional olive oil press and learning the how the oil has been produced for centuries. I’m sure the tradition is part of what makes this olive oil so precious. I am curious to taste the differences. Will I ever be able to buy olive oil at Walmart again?

Next we are off to taste some wine and learn what makes Umbrian wine different from Tuscan wine.

I’m pretty dang excited about all this wine tasting. The other day I just wander the Italian wine aisle at the liquor store and was lost. I’m not a very experienced connoisseur of the noble grape. But I do love a good glass of vino.
