My Italian is molto bene {very good} in my car. Not as much when trying to practice on my friends. Hopefully by the next Italian club social hour I will be able to say more than ”Io Capisco un po ‘italiano” {I understand a little Italian}.
Earlier in the month I went to my first social hour of the Italian Club of Salt Lake. It was awesome. Excited for January’s event.
Some of my favorite phrases so far:
Molto Bene – {very well/good}
This makes me smile whenever I say it and just plain makes me feel joyfulTanto Piacere – {so nice to meet you}
Cosi’ cosi’ – {so so}
A presto – {see you soon}
Come si dice…? – {how do you say…?}
qualcose – {something}
I am just in love with this language. It is so beautiful {bello}. I hope my old brain can retain enough to actually speak it.
I have decided to extend my extra days and add one more to Florence. So many places on my must see list. And I want enough time to just sit in una piazza {a town square} and bask in all the sounds and beauty.
That reminds me, I haven’t posted any thing about my itinerary. Next time.

I’d say something in my college Italian but I can’t remember anything! I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to travel vicariously through you!

I just put Google Translate on my iPhone and iPad and it’s usually open while I’m online. I love it! But I’m not very good a thinking the Italian sounds when I read the words. It does help me remember words I’ve already heard pronounced.
